Join us for the Second Annual American Masters Track & Field Championship that will be tentatively held on Friday and Saturday, August 16 and 17, 2019 in Durham NC

There will be 20 events being competed including track, field and relay events.

This event focuses on Masters athletes (except Racewalk) with age group and team awards on the line and at a world-class location at the Durham County Memorial Stadium the site of many USATF, College and High School Track & Field events.

This will also be a USATF Certified event and timed by Rhodes Race Timing Services and supported by the Piedmont Pacers Running, Track and Field Club.

There are no qualifying standards or requirements to be a member of USATF or any other organization to enter this meet and feel free to enter as few or as many events as you would like!

- 200 meter run

- 1,500 meter run

- 5,000 meter run

- 4x100 Relay (ten-year age groups)

- 4x400 Relay (ten-year age groups)

- 4x800 Relay (ten-year age groups)


Notes:

$25.00 for first event entered, $15.00 for second and additional events (prices increase July 1, 2019, $35 for first event and $25 for second and additional events.

For the event process, it will run oldest to youngest ages, women then men (the event judge may combine ages/genders based on the number of entrants)

Throwers must bring their own implements, checked and approved before use in competition

There will be batons provided for the relays

USATF Sanctioned Meet and will be run via USATF regulations

Volunteers will get a volunteer shirt and access to refreshments

Event t-shirts available on site for purchase

To check-in to receive your bib and event packet, enter the Stadium and there will be signs directing athletes to the Meet Check-In Tent


The schedule is listed below per phase, athletes must arrive with their bib number on the front part of their shirt/singlet to the event start location (Event Check-in Tents at Track, Throwing Area and Jumping)


If entering in multiple events that have the same starting time, let the field judge know you are running in a track event and we will fit you in for the field event and ensure you get the number of jumps or throws

Field events: Each registrant for a field event will get 6 throws or jumps for each event entered

Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers per event per gender per 5-year age group

(30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99, 100+)

Team award based on finishes per team-member in each event (8 points for 1st place, 6 points for 2nd place, 4 points for 3rd, 3 points for 4th, 2 points for 5th and 1 point for a 6th place finish.

Trophies for Most Outstanding Athlete for the top man and woman that has the most points from events entered.

$25.00 for the first event, $15.00 each event thereafter

Prices increase by $10.00 each on July 1, 2019 (12:00am US Eastern Time), final deadline is August 10

There is a small processing fee based on the number of events registered that occurs at the end of the registration process

Medical and Security staff will be onsite.

One Cool Zone tents will be located at the track, one a team the throwing area

Throwing implements: athletes must plan to bring their own implements & must get checked and approved from 11:30am until 12:30pm on Friday, August 16 and from 8:00am until 1:00pm Saturday, August 17.

Participants are subject to random drug testing per USATF rules and to ensure a clean meet. Details can be found at the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) website: https://www.usada.org

Running shoes and spikes are allowed - spike shoe wear is limited to 1/8” – 3/16” pins or pyramid spikes and must be checked before competition

Awards:

Most Outstanding Athletes: For the top man and woman that have the most points from events completed. (Based on same point per event formula as team award calculation)

Large medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place US finishers per event (Non-US Citizens, if winning a medal, will not displace US athletes or Team award-based points) per gender per 5-year age group (except Racewalk and Relays)

Racewalk award age-groups: 0-19, 19-29 and then along Masters age-groups

Masters age-groups: 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99, 100+)

Relays based on ten-year groups (30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90-99, 100+)

Triple Crown Individual Awards: If you compete in the same event at the 2019 USATF Outdoor, National State Games and American Masters Championships, you will win a special Triple Crown Award! (One award max per athlete)

Team awards for top 2 combined teams based on team totals for combined finishes per each team-member in each of their age group/gender event finishes.

8 points for 1st place, 6 points for 2nd place, 4 points for 3rd, 3 points for 4th, 2 points for 5th and 1 point for a 6th place finish)
